PAD PRIK YUAK

Pad Prik Yuak

Serve:2-3

Ingredients:

400 gram                   Minced pork

125 gram                    Pepper-sliced

15 gram                      Red chilli-finely chopped

2 clove                        Garlic-finely chopped

20                                 Basil leaves

2tbs                              Rapeseed oil

1tbs                               Fish sauce

1tbs                               Oyster sauce

1tsp                               Sugar

1tsp                               Dark soy sauce

Method

-Put the rapeseed oil into the frying pan. Then add the chopped garlic and chilli. Gently fry until the garlic turn golden brown in colour.

-Add the minced pork and stir-fry in high heat for 5 minutes. 

-Season with the fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and dark soy sauce then stir-fry in a medium heat for further 5 minutes.

-Put the pepper into the same pan. Then stir-fry in medium heat for further 6-8 minutes.

-Fold in the basil leaves. Transfer Pad Prik Yuak onto the plate and serve immediately with Thai Jasmine Rice.

Tip:

-You can replace the minced pork with chicken, pork or beef. It’s all good.  

-Prik Yuak is known as Banana pepper in the West. It has got a thinner flesh and pale lime green colour. You can also use the pepper from the local market.
